Rose Chaffey, a South Australian artist, began her creative journey on the east coast of Australia in 2000. After diverse careers spanning teaching, educational training, store managing, and freelance editing, her early paintings were inspired by the lush hills, ancient landscapes and diverse plant life of the eastern region, presenting a contrast to the dryness of the west. This lead to a series of successful exhibitions at Ivy Hill Gallery in New South Wales.

Now based in the southern vales of Adelaide, Rose primarily works with watercolour on archival-quality Arches paper. Her evolving style draws inspiration from her immediate surroundings, sparked during a ‘fungal foray’ in 2020 which expanded into her most recent exploration of the role of fungi in environmental restoration. Rose’s paintworks have been embraced by collectors across Australia and internationally, with select works currently on display at Red Poles Gallery in McLaren Vale.
